Life Skills Training (LST) is a universal age-appropriate, substance abuse prevention program for all young people in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. This program is part of the regular curriculum in Health class.
As part of the evaluation for this program, an attitude/behavior survey is given at the beginning and end of the program. Data collected from this survey will be used to make program improvements, to write grants to support program funding, and to assess overall community improvement. At times, program evaluations may be shared with the general public, but individual responses will be kept confidential. At no time will the personal identity of your child be made public.
This program is being conducted in collaboration with Youth First Foundation, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce substance abuse among area young people through research-proven substance abuse prevention/intervention programs. The Research Committee of Youth First will be tabulating the data collected from the Life Skills Program.
