Chairman
Description
The
chairman's job is to gather, coordinate, and inform volunteers as
to landscape needs on the school grounds. The chairman tries to
troubleshoot weed or pest problems and with the help of garden center
experts, try and solve the problems. She or he also coordinates
the "adopt-a-spot" program. This program allows teachers
and their students, as well as cub and girl scout groups, to take
a specific part of the school grounds and be responsible for its
upkeep, planting etc. The coordinator seeks out those who are interested
and assigns them a spot according to their need and wants. She will
offer support through herself or committee members if the need arises.
She works with Mr. Kreke if any new projects or problems arise for
advice and/or approval. The chairman purchases or assigns someone
to buy products needed for the landscape jobs. Right now we are
coordinating a plaque program so every adopted spot can be identified.
